Support Our Peace Efforts and End Polio Forever
Dedicated to Building International Relationships
Rotary is dedicated to six areas of focus to build international relationships, improve lives, and create a better world to support our peace efforts and end polio forever:
- Peace building and conflict prevention
- Disease prevention and treatment
- Water, sanitation, and hygiene
- Maternal and child health
- Basic education and literacy
Community Economic Development
Each year, Kalamalka Rotary contributes to international communities and families with some of the proceeds of the annual Kalamalka Rotary Dream Auction. The club’s International Donation Committee reviews applications received by December 31 of that calendar year and selects worthy community based projects to support in February to March of the following year.
We generally partner with organizations that have both local and international ties and are capable of providing sound financial and organizational oversight for the duration of the project.
The areas of focus for these projects are Rotary International’s six areas of focus as outlined above. We help to fund capital costs for community projects which have a broad impact and a defined start and finish.
Kal Rotarians also support international projects and initiatives, such as End Polio, through club fundraisers or through donations to The Rotary Foundation. See more at Link to Foundation.
In fall of 2021, Kal Rotarians, friends and family are hoping to travel to the village of April, Nepal to help build two houses for this community that was devastated by the 2015 earthquake.
