My name is Dustin Stadnyk and I’m the President of the Rotary Club of Kalamalka for 2020-2021.
Rotary is the world’s most important and oldest service organization boasting membership of over 1.2 million individuals. Globally, Rotary provides clean water to those without it, feeds the hungry, battles crippling, debilitating and disfiguring diseases and helps people learn to read and write so they can compete in the modern workplace.
Locally, we hold our annual Dream Auction fundraiser which raised over $300,000 in 2019, all the proceeds of which goes back into our local and international communities. We helped raise over $250,000 for the Vernon Jubilee Hospital expansion, helped build the skate park at Polson Park, and have completed hundreds of other local community projects. Just look around Vernon and you’ll see our Rotary wheel.
We also like to have fun. Our weekly meetings are vibrant and engaging, and our social committee works hard to ensure there are plenty of fellowship opportunities outside of the community work we perform. From hikes to evening socials, there seems to be something for everyone.
I’d like to personally invite you to come join us at one of our Rotary meetings to see what we’re up to this week, we’d love to have you.
Rotary International Theme for 2020-2021
RI President-elect Holger Knaack’s theme for 2020-21, Rotary Opens Opportunities, asks Rotarians to create opportunities that strengthen their leadership, help put service ideas into action, and improve the lives of those in need.
“As President, I plan to highlight the best Rotary has to offer where people of all backgrounds can see themselves reflected in our service and impact.”
A number of local Rotarians had the opportunity to hear and speak with Holger Knaack at PETS in February this year and were impressed by his vision and his leadership.
